Green Recovery Shake

Green Recovery Shake

Makes 1 large shake

Ingredients

  • 200 ml plant-based milk or water
  • 1 ripe banana
  • 1 scoop protein powder (e.g. vanilla or neutral)
  • 1 tsp Aligma Spirulina Powder
  • 1 tbsp peanut butter or almond butter
  • Handful of spinach (optional)
  • Ice cubes as desired

Preparation

  1. Add the liquid
Pour 200 ml plant-based milk or water into the blender. This prevents the other ingredients from sticking to the bottom.
  2. Add the banana
Peel the ripe banana and break it into pieces. Add to the blender.
  3. Add the protein powder
Add 1 scoop of protein powder (vanilla or neutral) on top of the banana.
  4. Add the spirulina
Add 1 teaspoon of Aligma Spirulina Powder. It blends best when added to the middle of the mix rather than directly against the blender wall.
  5. Add the nut butter
Add 1 tablespoon of peanut butter or almond butter for extra creaminess and a rich flavour.
  6. Add vegetables (optional)
For an extra green touch: add a handful of fresh spinach.
  7. Add ice cubes
Add ice cubes as desired. For a thick, cold shake: 4–6 cubes. For a thinner shake: 1–3.
  8. Blend
Blend on high speed for 30–45 seconds until the shake is completely smooth and creamy.
Tip: If the shake is too thick, add a little extra water or plant-based milk.
  9. Serve
Pour the shake into a large glass or shaker and enjoy it straight away for the best flavour.
