Privacy Policy of Aligma Europe B.V.

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is a law designed to protect individuals' privacy. The GDPR permits third parties to use your personal data, subject to certain conditions. For example, it must be clear who is processing which personal data and for what purpose.

Aligma Europe B.V. (hereinafter "Aligma.eu") processes various types of personal data, for example when you visit our website or place an order via our website.

Aligma.eu takes your privacy seriously and handles your personal data with care. In this privacy statement, it explains (among other things) why it needs your personal data and what you can do if you have any questions or comments about the processing of your personal data.

The personal data processed by Aligma.eu When you place an order via the Aligma.eu website, we ask you to provide certain details. We ask for your name, billing and delivery address(es), email address, telephone number, payment details and date of birth. This constitutes personal data, as it is information that can be traced back to you as an individual.

When you create an account, we process the following personal data: your name, email address, billing and delivery address(es), telephone number and payment details, gift vouchers/cards and date of birth (if you have provided this); your order details/purchase history and chosen delivery option, and (where applicable) your favourites list, email address and personalisation preferences.

If you contact us via our customer service team, we will process your email address and a transcript of the chat if you contact us via chat, or your email address and email message if you contact us via email.

When you visit our website, we process your IP address/domain name.

If you take part in a promotion or competition, we will process your name, address and/or email address. We need this information to run the promotion and to announce the winner(s). We collect this information with your consent. You can find details of exactly how your data will be used and how long we will keep it in the terms and conditions of the relevant competition or promotion.

How do we obtain your personal data? Aligma.eu obtains your personal data because:

  • you provide this to us yourself;
  • when you visit our website;
  • you send us a private message via social media;
  • someone who wants to send you a gift provides this information to us;
  • you have given someone else or another company permission to provide your personal data to us.

Aligma.eu processes the aforementioned data for the following reasons:

  • to process the agreements that customers enter into with Aligma.eu (financial and administrative) / to process your order;
  • to be able to send you the gift (ordered by someone else);
  • to be able to reach (potential) customers when necessary;
  • to be able to answer your questions or respond to your message;
  • to help you even better / to further develop and optimise our products and services;
  • to personalise our pages for each unique visitor and to provide personalised offers (if you do not wish to receive our personalised offers, you can tick the 'opt out of marketing' box at the start of your visit to Aligma.eu);
  • to keep customers and prospective customers informed of the latest developments regarding our products;
  • to be able to ask you for a review after you have placed an order (via/with the help of our service provider 'Trustpilot'; see also under the heading 'Disclosure of your personal data to third parties');
  • to investigate, prevent and combat unauthorised access and fraud.

Aligma.eu sends a newsletter We are permitted to send you our newsletter because you are a customer of ours or because you have indicated that you wish to receive it.

If you no longer wish to receive our newsletter, you can of course unsubscribe. The easiest way to unsubscribe is by using the link at the bottom of the newsletter. You can also send an email to service@aligma.eu. We will do our best to remove your email address from the mailing list as soon as possible.

We sometimes also contact you by post or telephone In some cases this is necessary in order to fulfil the agreement with you. But sometimes we also do this to make you an offer. If you object to this, please let us know. You can submit your objection to us via service@aligma.eu.

Personalised email messages / personal preferences We may also send you other information, such as prize draws or personal recommendations. We do this with your consent, based on your personal preferences, which are derived from your order and browsing history of up to 2 years ago. In this way we aim to make the content of our messages more relevant and personal for you.

There are also various ways for you to indicate your preferences to us yourself. For example, you can sign up for our newsletter or add items to your favourites list. You can adjust or turn off these preferences at any time in your account.

Cookies The Aligma.eu website uses cookies. A cookie is a small file placed on the device you use to visit our website, such as your phone or computer.

Aligma.eu uses functional cookies. These cookies ensure that the website functions properly and remember, for example, your login details and the items you place in your shopping basket. No consent is required for placing such cookies.

Disclosure of your personal data to third parties Aligma.eu does not share personal data with third parties unless there is a specific reason or necessity to do so.

This includes the fulfilment of the agreement you have entered into with Aligma.eu — for example, the delivery of an order you have placed via our logistics partner Packs or PostNL, and the provision of payment services.

Customer surveys and reviews Aligma.eu greatly values your opinion as a customer and wants to know how we can take our service to an even higher level. We may therefore use your data for customer surveys. Because we do not always carry out these surveys ourselves, Aligma.eu sometimes shares personal data with external service providers who support us in this. Through our service provider 'Trustpilot', we ask you to leave a review approximately one week after your order. For this reason, we share your personal data with 'Trustpilot'. Reviews are (of course) only posted with your consent. You can also choose to post a review under your own name or using an alias.

Legal obligation Aligma.eu is sometimes legally required to pass on personal data to government bodies such as the Tax Authority or the police/judicial authorities (in the performance of the tasks assigned to these services). In such cases, Aligma.eu will comply with its legal obligations.

Agreements with third parties (data processing agreements) When Aligma.eu engages third parties to process your personal data, it makes — where necessary — agreements with those parties to ensure that they also handle your personal data carefully and in accordance with the law.

Aligma.eu does not share or sell personal data to other organisations for commercial purposes.

Aligma.eu protects your personal data / retention period Aligma.eu protects your personal data in the following ways:

  • your personal data can only be accessed by authorised persons;
  • employees of Aligma.eu have a personal password to log in to the digital (customer) system;
  • employees of Aligma.eu are bound by a duty of confidentiality with regard to all personal data provided to Aligma.eu;
  • Aligma.eu has taken technical measures to secure the systems it uses against external breaches; when transferring/receiving your data on our website, we use encryption technologies that are recognised as common standards within the IT industry;
  • Aligma.eu has its security regularly assessed by external security firms;
  • your personal data is only processed within the organisation and within the European Economic Area ("EEA");
  • your personal data will not be retained for longer than is necessary for the purposes described;
  • the law may prescribe a retention period. If so, Aligma.eu will comply with the statutory retention period. For example, we are legally required to retain data related to your order for 7 years.

Your rights Under the GDPR, you have a number of rights. These rights help you to protect your privacy:

  • the right to information: the right to know whether and which personal data about you is being processed and for what purpose;
  • the right to correction, addition or deletion of your personal data;
  • the right to object: the right to object, in certain cases, to the processing of your personal data;
  • the right to data portability: the right to receive the personal data you have provided to us in a machine-readable format;
  • the right to restriction of the processing of your personal data;
  • the right to be forgotten.
