Citrus–Spirulina Spritz (non-alcoholic)

Citrus–Spirulina Spritz (non-alcoholic)

Makes 2 glasses

Ingredients

  • 200 ml sparkling water (well chilled)

  • 150 ml fresh orange juice

  • 20–30 ml fresh lime juice

  • 1–2 tsp honey or maple syrup (to taste)

  • ½ tsp Aligma Spirulina Powder

  • Pinch of salt (optional, makes the flavour “rounder”)

  • Ice cubes as desired

  • Garnish: slices of orange/lime + sprigs of mint (optional)

Preparation

  1. Make the spirulina base
Add the orange juice, lime juice, and honey/maple syrup to a measuring jug or shaker. Add the spirulina and stir vigorously until smooth.

  2. Tip to avoid lumps
If needed, first mix the spirulina with 2–3 tbsp of juice to form a paste, then stir that into the rest.

  3. Fill the glasses
Fill two glasses with ice cubes.

  4. Divide
Pour the spirulina base over the glasses.

  5. Top up
Gently top up with sparkling water (pouring slowly keeps the bubbles better).

  6. Finish
Stir once gently, garnish with citrus and mint, and serve immediately.

Variation (extra refreshing): add a few thin slices of ginger to the glass, or use half sparkling water / half (unsweetened) kombucha for a slightly more “grown-up” tangy kick.
