Chocolate Protein Shake with Blue Swirl

Serves 1

Ingredients

  • 200 ml unsweetened almond or oat milk
  • 1 scoop chocolate protein powder
  • 1 tsp cacao powder (for extra chocolate flavour)
  • ½ banana
  • ½ tsp Blue Spirulina Powder
  • 2–3 ice cubes

Preparation

  1. Prepare the swirl
  2. Mix the ½ tsp blue spirulina powder with 1–2 tablespoons of the almond or oat milk until fully dissolved.
  3. Set this aside. This will become the swirl later.
  4. Make the shake
  5. Add the remaining milk (approximately 180–185 ml) to a blender.
  6. Add:
  7. 1 scoop chocolate protein powder
  8. 1 tsp cacao powder
  9. ½ banana
  10. 2–3 ice cubes
  11. Blend for 30–45 seconds until the shake is creamy and smooth.
  12. Add the swirl
  13. Pour the shake into a glass.
  14. Pour the blue spirulina milk over the top and use a straw, spoon, or skewer to swirl it through for a beautiful effect.
  15. Do not stir too much — this keeps the colour contrast nicely visible.
  16. Serve
  17. Serve immediately so the swirl stays vibrant and the shake stays nice and cold.
