Blue Unicorn Latte (caffeine-free)

Makes 1 mug

Ingredients

  • 250 ml (unsweetened) plant-based milk
  • 1 tsp Aligma Blue Spirulina Powder
  • 1–2 tsp maple syrup, agave syrup, or honey
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • Optional: frothed milk as topping

Preparation

  1. Warm the plant-based milk
    Pour the 250 ml (unsweetened) plant-based milk into a small saucepan and heat over low to medium heat.
    Let it warm through but do not bring to the boil — this keeps the spirulina colour looking its best.
  2. Mix the spirulina
    Add 1 teaspoon of Aligma Blue Spirulina Powder to a mug.
    Add 1–2 tablespoons of the warm milk and stir into a smooth paste without lumps.
    (This ensures a beautiful, even blue latte.)
  3. Add sweetener and vanilla
    Add 1–2 tsp maple syrup, agave syrup, or honey to the mug.
    Then add ½ tsp vanilla extract.
    Stir well again.
  4. Pour in the rest of the milk
    Slowly pour the remaining warm milk into the mug while stirring continuously, so everything blends evenly.
  5. Optional topping
    If you want a creamy finish:
  6. Froth extra plant-based milk until foamy
  7. Spoon or pour it on top of the latte
  8. For a soft colour gradient, mix a small pinch of spirulina through the foam
