The combination of beans, herbs, and spirulina creates a unique twist — ideal for a light lunch or a satisfying meal.
What do you need?
Makes 4 small burgers:
-
2.5 g spirulina powder
-
200 g white or cannellini beans (drained)
-
1 egg (or use a chia egg for the vegan version)
-
1 cm fresh ginger
-
2 cloves of garlic
-
1 tablespoon soy sauce
-
½ teaspoon chilli flakes
-
1 teaspoon miso paste
-
1 tablespoon chia seeds
-
3 tablespoons breadcrumbs
-
½ tablespoon coconut oil
-
And of course: 4 small multigrain rolls
How to make it:
-
Mix the base: Add the beans, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, miso, and chilli flakes to a food processor. Blend to a coarse purée.
-
Add the binding: Mix in the egg (or chia egg), breadcrumbs, chia seeds, and spirulina. Knead into a firm mixture.
-
Shape the burgers: Use your hands to form four small burgers. If the mixture is too wet, add a little extra breadcrumbs.
-
Fry until golden: Heat the coconut oil in a pan and fry the burgers on both sides until golden brown in a few minutes.
-
Serve with flair: Place the burgers on the rolls and add your favourite toppings — think sliced avocado, lettuce, cucumber, or a fresh yoghurt sauce.
